Summer's Vineyard
Why plant a vineyard here?
I didn't start out with the idea of planting a vineyard, though I do grow a small number of Concord, Niagara, Einset, and Catawba vines along with an acre of fruit trees in Wisconsin. This property was supposed to be a retreat where the dogs and I spend time for two or three months out of the year. Passing Lewis Peak Vineyard on the way up, and spying grapes on a neighbor's property got me to wondering. What could I do here? That question may be more significant as the climate continues to warm. Will the Blue Mountains be the next place for vineyards in Washington? We'll find out.

Our Varietals
The first plantings of Arvine and Chasselas will go into the ground in 2026. We plan to add two or three additional varietals (or more of existing ones) per year until the vineyard is fully planted.
